The German slogan "Kinder, Kirche, Küche" (Children, Church, Kitchen) summarized the expectations of young German women and implies the inferior and supplementary role females were trained to play in the Hitler Youth's girls' groups, collectively known as Bund Deutscher Mädel (Association of German Girls), or BDM. At meetings, girls in the BDM might've completed art projects and sewed, but the primary activities, in addition to Nazi education and fitness, involved trianing in first aid, household duties, and care of children.
